Service Description

Unearth the stories of those who are often left out of traditional narratives of Cambridge: Women, people of colour, and LGBTQIA+ individuals. This guided journey around the city will go back in time to highlight the many ways women have historically experienced the urban space and family life, uncover how masculinities have shaped and been shaped by the city landscape, and discuss queer experiences in the city. Together we will analyse the urban landscape, discuss gendered geographies, and push back on social expectations. Tour is recommended for children age 12 and up. Please note tour itinerary may vary depending on time and guide. ACCESSIBILITY: - Wheelchair accessible, but please note some mildly uneven pavement and crowding in the city centre. - Distance walked is less than one mile. - There are moments for sitting/leaning against walls throughout this tour, and toilets are available if required. - We do not have microphones or other amplifying audio equipment but strive to accommodate diverse needs to the best of our ability. Please let us know of any accommodations required when you register.
