About the event

Discover Cambridge with new perspectives on the Uncomfortable Cambridge™ walking tour. This unique tour delves into the rich historical memory of Cambridge, uncovering diverse and often overlooked stories within the beautiful city centre.

Our Cambridge walking tour offers a fresh perspective on the city’s history, moving beyond the typical narratives to explore the complex stories of race, gender, class, and disability. We raise thought-provoking questions about the lasting legacies of the British Empire and its impact on the academic university.

Each tour is led by university researchers who are passionate about Cambridge, its residents, and its diverse past. Our well-researched and intellectually stimulating tours are designed to encourage critical thinking and discussion.

Tour recommended for age 12 and older.

Children under 12 are welcome to attend free of charge.

All minors (under 18) must be accompanied by an adult.
